West Indies End 34-Year Drought to Beat Pakistan in ODI Series

It’s been a really long time, but finally, the West Indies have beaten Pakistan in a one-day series. Can you believe it, 34 years since the last time back in 1991! And they didn’t just win, they really smashed it in the third ODI by 202 runs and took the series 2-1. Definitely, a match to remember for all cricket fans. The series started on August 8. Pakistan won game no. 1, in which they achieved the target of 280 runs. They have easily won it just by losing 5 wickets. In this game, Hasan Nawaz made 63 runs in 54 balls, which helped the team to win the game.  

In the second ODI, everything changed. The game was rain-affected, and due to which some overs were reduced. In the 37-over quota, Pakistan scored just 171 runs. This target West Indies chased down easily to level the series. Roston Chase made 49 runs and took one wicket in this game. 

In the final game, the West Indies batted first. They set the target for 295 runs, where Shai Hope scored a quick century. His innings had 5 sixes and 10 fours. Justin Greaves also chipped in with 43 not out, Evin Lewis made 37, and Roston Chase added 36. Shai Hope got the player of the match, and it was really deserved.

Pakistan’s turn to chase 295 didn’t go anywhere. They got all out for just 92 runs! Can you imagine, five of their batsmen didn’t even score a single run. Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, they all failed. Salman Ali Agha scored the most with 30 runs, and Mohammad Nawaz made 23 not out, but it was just not enough.

West Indies’ bowlers were on fire. Jaiden Seales took six wickets in the series and was named player of the series. He did great in both first and second matches, making sure Pakistan didn’t have a chance. Everything in this series was nothing less than a proper effort by the team.
