Akash Deep was born in a middle class family on December 15, 1996, in Dehri. It is a small town in the Sasaram district, which comes under Bihar state. His father, Ramji Singh was a school teacher. In his childhood, playing cricket was the favourite hobby of Akash.

When Akash turned 16, everything changed in his life as his father passed away. Just when the family was trying to handle that, his elder brother Dhiraj also died — it was a brain haemorrhage. Two big losses in a short time.

After that, nothing felt the same. Akash left cricket. He didn’t play for almost three years. There were money problems, emotional pressure, and suddenly, a lot of responsibility on him. It felt like his dream of playing cricket was over. But somewhere inside, he still wanted to play. He didn’t forget cricket completely. Slowly, he started again.

Education of Akash Deep 

Akash did his schooling till the 12th standard in Sasaram, Bihar. After losing his father and brother, life had become really tough. But his mother, Laduma Devi, never gave up on him. She supported him through all the pain and problems. After a lot of thinking, and with some push from his friends and people around him, Akash decided to give cricket one more try. He thought — let’s just try one last time.

He shifted to Durgapur in West Bengal to take cricket seriously. At first, he used to be a batsman. But later, his coach told him to focus on bowling instead. That advice turned out to be the game-changer. His journey as a fast bowler started from there.

After shifting to Durgapur, he has joined a cricket club. There he used to paly tennis ball cricket from this club to earn money. Alongside it, he used to practice with cricket ball. In 2010 he has joined the CAB league that given wings to his cricket dream. During this time he has shifted his focus from batting to bowling. Akash Deep started his Domestic cricket career in Bengal. He played for the U-23 team and performed well. In 2012, he got the chance to play for the SMAT from the same team in 2019. He did not get the chance to bowl in 2nd innings, but surely his contribution in the debut test helped India to win the game by 5 wickets.
