Virat Kohli is Set to Play Ranji Trophy After 13 Years

The former captain of the Indian cricket team, Virat Kohli is all set to play the Ranji trophy after 13 years. He has confirmed his availability for the Delhi vs. Railways match scheduled for January 30th. Delhi’s coach, Sarandeep Singh, mentioned that Virat told DDCA president Rohan Jaitley and the team management that he’s ready for the match against Railways. But, he won’t be part of the Saurashtra game on January 23rd. Virat told the BCCI medical team that he’s got some neck pain and is undergoing treatment. Once he’s better, he’ll join the team for the second match. So, he won’t be playing the first one.

Virat’s Last Ranji Match

Virat played the last Ranji game in year 2012 against Uttar Pradesh. He scored 14 runs in the first inning and 42 runs in the second inning. Since then, he has been a common part of the Indian team and never featured in any game of Ranji Trophy. Kohli’s debut match was against Tamil Nadu in 2006 and he played all the games from Delhi. Till now, he has played 23 Ranji games where with a stunning average of 50.77 he has made 1574 runs.
