How Was the Early Life of Ishan Kishan?

Ishan Kishan was born in Patna, Bihar, on July 18, 1998. He comes from a middle-class family, however, choosing cricket as a career was not easy for him. He could not play for his state, Bihar due to registration issues. Later he decided to play for Jharkhand. And that’s where things started. He played domestic cricket, made a name, and soon became the captain of India’s U-19 team in the 2016 World Cup. India reached the final. However, his performance wasn’t great. Still, his aggressive batting and leadership caught the attention of the selectors and IPL owners. Ishan Kishan took his early education from Delhi Public School, Patna while he completed his higher studies at the College of Commerce, Arts and Science, Patna.

His IPL career started in 2016 with Gujarat Lions. In the first IPL season, Kishan was not good, as he scored only 42 runs in 5 games. In  The real fame he got after being a part of Mumbai Indians. MI bought him in the 2018 auction, and from 2018-2024, he was the part of MI team. His performance in MI was outstanding especially in 2020, when he smashed 516 runs and was their best batter. MI trusted him. Gave him a massive ₹15.25 crore contract in 2022. But cricket is ruthless. After a couple of mixed seasons, MI said goodbye and released him. With the top performance in IPL and domestic cricket, he got the call from the  Indian team. In February 2021, he was selected for England tour in the T20I squad. In the very first match, he scored the half-century and won the player of the match award.

After the T20I, he got the call for ODI games in June 2021. Just like T20I, he scored a half-century in his debut ODI game against Sri Lanka. Till then his performance was mixed. However, he caught the eye of every cricket fan when he scored the fastest ODI century of ODI cricket. He played the inning of 210 runs in just 131 balls against Bangladesh. In 2023 he played the first ODI World Cup, but only got chances in 2 games. However, due to disciplinary action, he was removed from the upcoming T20I and ODI squad and still waiting for a call.

His father, Pranav Kumar Pandey, is a builder while his mother, Suchitra Singh, is a home maker.
