Shardul Thakur Hits Century in Practice Match

In the intra-squad match between India and India A, Shardul Thakur scored a quick century. He took just 76 balls to complete his century. He played this knock against top bowlers, including Bumrah, Shami and Arshdeep, which was impressive ahead of a big series. He also took 4 wickets in the match. This performance will surely give him an edge over other all-rounders, especially Nitish Kumar Reddy, and he might get a chance in the playing XI for the first test.
Before this, Sarfaraz Khan also made a strong impact by scoring 101 runs in 76 balls. He retired out after his century to give others a chance to bat. Players like Gill, Pant, and Rahul also scored good runs in the match, which is a good sign for the team, as senior players are looking in form.
One of the main concerns from the match is Bumrah’s form, as he didn’t take any wickets. Siraj and Prasidh Krishna took 2 wickets each. The four-day match was stopped on Day 3 itself, and June 16 was given as a full rest day for the players. The team is now set to leave for Leeds on June 17 for the upcoming Test match.
