Aakarshi & Unnati Fight Their Way Into Round 2

Thankfully, the women’s singles gave us something to cheer about. Aakarshi Kashyap went up against Japan’s Koaru Sugiyama. This one was a real edge-of-the-seat match. Aakarshi took the first game 21-16, then dropped the second 20-22 – super close! But she managed to pull off a win in the third game 22-20.

Another three-game thriller came from Unnati Hooda. She played against Thailand’s Thamonwan N. and the scores tell you how tight it was: 21-14, 18-21, 23-21. That third game went down to the wire, but Unnati kept her cool and got the win. However, Rakshita Sree could not win her game. She lost to Singapore’s Yeo Jia Min, in straight games: 18-21, 7-21.
